(KRON) -- A police shooting occurred early Monday morning in San Jose after officers pulled over a vehicle in the Olinder neighborhood, south of San Jose High School, SJPD said.

San Jose Police Department officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop at 2:54 a.m. in the area of East Santa Clara and North 21st streets. During the stop, an officer was injured, police said. According to authorities, a second officer discharged their firearm as the vehicle that was pulled over fled from the scene.

San Jose PD did not specify what caused the officer’s injuries, and it is unclear what prompted the shooting at this time. The officer’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, authorities said.

A vehicle “possibly associated to the initial incident” was found near Lucretia Avenue and Tully Road shortly after the shooting, SJPD said. No arrests were announced.
